At Dreamlife, Waiheke Island wedding photography is a careful craft, never a series of poses. We are an Auckland studio and Waiheke is right on our doorstep, a short ferry across the Hauraki Gulf, so we have photographed island weddings here for years. We work with couples who want their love story documented with feeling, restraint and a true photographer’s eye for light. From the quiet pause before the first kiss to the last dance with the vineyards behind you, our images feel like the day itself rather than a staged retelling of it.

Waiheke wedding photographers couples come back to

Choosing your Waiheke wedding photographers is, at heart, a question of trust. You are inviting someone into the most personal hours of your life and asking them to carry the memory home for you. Our approach is unhurried and observational. We move quietly through the day, anticipate the moments that matter and photograph them honestly, without forcing the day into a script. Knowing the island also means we can plan around the ferry timetable and the light, so the day runs smoothly. Every couple receives a high resolution gallery, considered editing and the option of museum quality prints and luxury leather bound albums.

Waiheke wedding venues we know inside out

Waiheke is one of the most beautiful places in the country to marry, and our portfolio reflects it. We have photographed weddings at the island’s celebrated vineyards and at its quiet beaches, from clifftop ceremonies with the Gulf stretching out behind to long lunches under the vines. Knowing each venue intimately changes the images. We know where the afternoon light falls across the terraces, which corner of the estate suits the family group portrait, and how the sea haze can soften a portrait into something timeless.

Waiheke wedding venues we photograph at most often include:

  • Mudbrick Vineyard and Cable Bay Vineyards
  • Stonyridge, Tantalus Estate and Batch Winery
  • Onetangi and Oneroa beachfront venues
  • Man O’ War Bay and eastern island estates
  • Clifftop ceremony sites overlooking the Hauraki Gulf

Wedding videography on Waiheke, filmed alongside your photographs

A wedding film suits Waiheke beautifully, with the vines, the water and the island light all part of the day. Many of our couples book a videographer alongside the photography, and the two teams work as one, sharing a plan so neither gets in the other’s way. We film with the same restraint we bring to the stills and shape it into a film you will return to for years. Booking photography and videography together is the most efficient way to cover an island wedding, and usually the most affordable.

How much do Waiheke wedding photographers cost?

Photography for a Waiheke wedding varies with the length of the day, whether you add a second shooter and whether you bundle videography. Our pricing page sets out the full range of packages and baseline rates, and from there we build a package around your day and your chosen venue, so you only pay for the coverage you actually need. Tell us a little about your wedding and we will put together a tailored quote.
